Brooklyn Heights
One of Brooklyns oldest neighborhoods, it was first settled as a suburb of Manhattan. Houses are Federal in style, with a smattering of other styles as well as some elegant apartment buildings. Breathtaking views of New York Harbor are available from the Promenade. The Heights is noted for becoming the citys very first designated historic district as it successfully fought a Robert Moses plan to run a super highway through its heart. Served by excellent public and private schools, it is many a visitors first stop in Brooklyn.
