Their values are deeply aligned with Brown Harris Stevens, New York’s oldest and most prestigious privately-held real estate firm, established in 1873, where they frequently achieve Most Reported New Deals companywide. Messrs. Franklin and Manning have been prominently featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Mansion Global, Forbes, Town and Country, The Real Deal, The Daily Mail UK, Yahoo Finance, and NBC Open House to name a few.
As a former partner of a $15 billion New York Stock Exchange listed Real Estate Investment Trust and CEO of an ultra-high-net-worth family office, Chris brings a breadth and depth of real estate investment experience and discretion to his clients. Following successful exits from these careers, he decided to pursue his passions of architecture, design, and luxury residential real estate. His own home on the Upper East Side, where he served as Treasurer of his board, was featured in the design magazine, New York Cottages and Gardens (NYC&G) and on the television show, Open House New York.
Prior to his career in real estate finance and wealth management, Major Franklin served on active duty as an officer and B-52H bomber pilot in the United States Air Force. He held numerous non-flying assignments including Political Military Adviser for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (while assigned to the Pentagon) and Executive Officer to the Commanding General of Eighth Air Force. Air Force core values of “Integrity First”, “Service Before Self”, and “Excellence In All We Do”, were ingrained early in his career. Entrusted with our nation’s highest secrets, Chris brings these same core values, attention to detail, and trust to every interaction with his clients.
Chris holds a B.Sc. from The United States Air Force Academy where he graduated with military distinction, a M.A. in Organizational Management from George Washington University, and a MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University where he served on the Alumni Advisory Board. He is a long-standing member of The University Club of New York, member of the Real Estate Board of New York, past Director of the W.P. Carey Foundation, and serves on numerous philanthropic boards.
