Before entering real estate, James enjoyed a distinguished television career. As a former Senior Vice President at Meredith Corporation and CBS Television Distribution, he oversaw the development, distribution, and launch of some of the most successful home and lifestyle programs on television, including Martha Stewart Living, Bob Vila’s Home Again, and Better Homes & Gardens. He also had the distinction of serving as Head of U.S. Sales Operations for two Israeli start-ups focused on artificial intelligence, further expanding his leadership and global business experience.
A natural entrepreneur with a passion for pop culture, James founded CBGB Holdings, acquiring the trademarks and intellectual property of the iconic New York City nightclub CBGB. As President, he revitalized the legendary brand through partnerships with iHeart Radio, Activision, Bravado, and Vans, expanding its reach through innovative merchandise and cultural collaborations. His efforts also led to the establishment of a permanent CBGB exhibition at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland.
Today, James brings that same creativity, enthusiasm, and attention to detail to his real estate practice. Having bought and sold numerous properties of his own in New York City and East Hampton, he understands firsthand the nuances of ownership, investment, and design. Clients appreciate his sharp negotiation skills, market insight, and ability to present homes with maximum appeal through expert marketing and staging.
A Long Island native, James grew up in South Bellmore Harbor Estates and attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He resides full-time in East Hampton and maintains a second home in New York City with his husband, Fernando. He purchased his first East Hampton home in 1999 and moved to his current two-acre property in 2005. When not immersed in real estate, James enjoys cooking and entertaining family and friends, collecting art, interior design and DIY projects, gardening, reading, writing, and supporting philanthropic and community causes.
