Celebrating her 30th year in residential real estate this year, Margaret H. Velard began her career in real estate in 1985. She joined Brown Harris Stevens in 2008 after eight years at Corcoran Group Real Estate and 12 years with Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Margaret's real estate philosophy is simply that of communicating thoroughly with the buyer or seller throughout the entire sales process. Her ability to carefully listen to and understand both her customers and clients makes her deals unbelievably quick and painless for all parties involved. Her unerring accuracy in pricing apartments results in major satisfaction for both sellers and buyers.

Margaret is consistently in the list of top producers company-wide. She was Broker Specialist for the Hotel des Artistes at 1 West 67th Street, where she was involved in the sale of over 30 apartments. For the past seven years, she was Broker Specialist for Riverside Towers, 263 West End Avenue, the oldest cooperative on the Upper West Side.

A Smith College alumna, Margaret left advertising in 1979 for real estate. The major portion of her business is on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where she resides and raised her family. Margaret has successfully branched out to the rest of Manhattan, closing sales transactions in almost every neighborhood.

When she’s not selling apartments, Margaret is heavily involved with the Young Adult Institute. Aside from her husband and children, her passions include knitting, information technology, reading, theater and film.
