Robert has lived and worked in New York since 1977 when he moved to the city from the Midwest. In 1984, he and his wife purchased a co-op apartment in a converted Cobble Hill schoolhouse where they still reside. As a result of his service on the co-op board he has developed comfortable working relationships with architects, attorneys, contractors, craftsmen and other professionals and through practical experience over many years he has become well versed in the care and maintenance of landmark buildings, building operations, permits/renovations, landmark issues, bank finance and mortgage practices all of which are critical in buyer/seller exchanges. As a 30 year resident in a landmark community, he has a strong appreciation for the historic architecture and building styles in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
In 1998, Robert added another important variation to his qualifications when he became a licensed NYS Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser. He has developed his own appraisal company and still accepts many referrals for work in this field. From his appraisal practice, his knowledge of local markets throughout the city has been widely expanded as he has personally inspected, valued and appraised thousands of properties in Brooklyn and throughout the five Boroughs.
The complexities of real estate transactions in New York can make the process of buying and selling confusing and frustrating. Perhaps the most important quality Robert has learned during his 14 year real estate career is how to help others to understand what is really most important to them and has developed a client base who appreciate that the process of selling or buying is easier and can be handled more successfully with a loyal and courteous guide. Robert will patiently work with you from that first question to the hand shakes and handing over of the keys at closing.
