Shelby Werner joined Brown Harris Stevens as a Sales Associate in 2002. With a lengthy list of accomplishments in the financial world, the transition to high-end residential real estate was a smooth one.

A Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Investment Counselor, Ms. Werner served as Managing Director and Founding Partner for Whippoorwill Associates, Inc. an independent investment advisory firm with $550 million under management. Prior to this, she was responsible for a $100 million portfolio of distressed securities for Progressive Insurance. Her expertise in managing such large assets left Ms. Werner with a keen eye for value, an ability she uses to her clients’ advantage.

She is a long-standing resident of the Upper East Side with an acute understanding of the needs of her clientele. Her professional affiliations, which involve sitting on the board of directors of several publicly traded companies, including Barneys New York, and her membership in both local and national financial associations, have left Ms. Werner with an insider’s knowledge of the city and it’s most discriminating residents. Sensitive to the demands and concerns of a client seeking both a home and an investment, Ms. Werner strives to facilitate a solid match.

Equally active in the New York’s cultural offerings, she shares her husband’s involvement with the Manhattan Theater Club and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In her free time, Ms. Werner is a sculptor and enjoys gardening, golf, and hiking with her family at their house in Dutchess County.
