This week, after 37 years, Hall Willkie announced that he would be stepping into a new role as full-time Chief Consultant at Brown Harris Stevens, effective July 1st. Although he will no longer be President of the NYC brokerage, Hall will still very much be involved with the agents and executives.  With more than 50 years of combined real estate experience, NYC sales managers Itzy Garay and Kevin Kovesci have been named co-presidents.

Senior Vice President of Communications Ashley Brennan asked Hall to elaborate on his exciting transition and what it means for the future of Brown Harris Stevens:

Ashley Brennan:  Earlier this week in your email announcing your July 1st transition from BHS President to BHS Fulltime Chief Consultant, you wrote that you are moved by a deep sense of excitement for the future. What exactly excites you at this time ?

Hall Willkie: My new role will allow me to focus on what I love most, negotiation, mentorship, deal problem solving, pitching, staging, showings, and continued collaboration with agents and executives.

Ashley Brennan:  You have seen our company grow from 34 agents to the powerhouse it is today.   What comes to mind when you are asked to account for the extraordinary success of BHS ?

Hall Willkie:
Together we built the spirit of excellence, professionalism and commitment to clients that is now deeply ingrained in our DNA.  The agents who represent the Brand with integrity and passion, known industry wide for their professionalism, the leadership team, and the dedicated staff, have all played a vital role in shaping BHS into what it is today.  We grew together.

Ashley Brennan:  Can you explain how you will be stepping down as president and not be retiring?

Hall Willkie:  Yes !  Brown Harris Stevens will continue to be more than just a workplace for me – it remains a home, a community, and a lifelong endeavor. I will still be available as a full-time resource, and I feel fortunate to know that we will still all be working together.

Ashley Brennan:  In your email this week you said, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”   What’s the message there?

Hall Willkie:  The message is simple.  My dedication to Brown Harris Stevens, to our agents, and to the mission we uphold remains steadfast as ever, and I look forward to continuing to contribute everyday to our shared success as always.
