Brown Harris Stevens | Established 1837

Set inside the southwestern portion of Brooklyn, it's loosely bounded borders run from Gravesend Bay on the south, Bay Parkway and Avenue P to the east, 65th Street to the north and 14th Avenue to the West. On 86th Street, which is the dividing line between this community and Bath Beach, outdoor markets sit side-by-side with small, independent shops.

18th Avenue is the main shopping and dining street, here you'll find small, family-owned businesses, many of which have stayed in the same location for multiple generations. Bensonhurst's neighborhood park is Milestone Park. It features a replica of the oldest sandstone mile marker in New York City (the original is inside the Brooklyn Historical Society in Downtown Brooklyn).

Housing Stock: One- and two-family brick and stucco row houses (many with lovely gardens, wrought-iron fences and driveways), mid-rise apartment buildings, low-rise and/or multi-family buildings (nicknamed Fedder Homes because of their distinctive air-conditioning sleeves) are replacing original houses that dated back to the 1920s.
