Bergen Beach

In the borough's northeastern region, surrounded by water, its borders are often referred to as Jamaica Bay to the north and south, the Belt Parkway to the east and Avenue M to East 68th Street to the west. Surrounded Mill Basin and Georgetown, it is considered a close-knit neighborhood with a suburban feel.

Connected to the mainland via landfill in the 1850s, the land was intended to serve as a resort area. But, due to Coney Island's popularity, the resort closed in 1920. However, by the 1960s, Bergen Beach was fully developed and gained huge popularity in the late 1980s.

Neighborhood amenities include the Bergen Beach Playground, filled with lovely greenery, benches, a playground and ball courts. The Bergen Beach Youth Organization (don't let the name throw you as all residents enjoy it amenities) provides ball courts, tennis, and a roller hockey rink.

Housing Stock: Single and multi-family townhomes, row houses, low- and mid-rise condos and single-family homes.
