Dyker Heights

Dyker Heights runs from 7th Avenue to the west, 14th Avenue to the east, 65th Street to the north and 86th Street to the south.

For food shops, restaurants and specialty stores, 13th Avenue is the place to go in this neighborhood. The 46-acre, dog-friendly Dyker Beach Park, which has its own 18-hole public course just under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, is a neighborhood favorite. Better still, there's a six-hole course with a driving range and free instruction for kids.

Fun Fact: Over-the-top Christmas decorations and colorful lights, especially along 84th Street between 10th and 12th Avenues, draw about 100,000 visitors during the holidays. So famous, PBS actually produced a documentary about it ("Dyker Lights") some years ago.

Housing Stock: Gated mansions, brick row houses, one- and two-family homes (some in their original Queen Anne style) and condo and rental apartment houses.
