Sunset Park

Sunset Park

One of Brooklyn's highest points, most say it's bordered from 65th Street on the south, Ninth Avenue, Green-Wood Cemetery and Fifth Avenue on the east, Upper New York Bay to the west and 38th Street to the north, but the New York Department of Housing Preservation and Development considers its borders running from Eighth Avenue to New York Harbor and from 64th to 24th Streets, past Green-Wood Cemetery.

The actual park itself, is surrounded by coveted homes and pre-war co-op apartments. The park is a sprawling 25 acres with a recreation center, pool, ball fields, a playground and magical views of Manhattan. Sunset Park is known to be one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Brooklyn, celebrated at the annual Sunset Park Parade of Flags down 5th Avenue. Fifth and Eighth Avenues also offer a variety of food markets and restaurants with an eye-popping array of cuisines.

Fun Fact: This neighborhood has a Costco on 39th street.

Housing Stock: 19th century brownstones and row houses, post-war apartments for sale or rent and new developments and condo conversions.
