A veteran investor of 20-plus years in the New York City condo and co-op real estate market, Barbara Etzel puts her extensive knowledge of the city to work strategically and effectively for her clients. She specializes in luxury condos and co-op sales with a focus on Long Island City, where she has lived with her family since 2009 and is an active community member and volunteer.

Barbara’s midwestern roots, calm personality, and experience as a professional organizer provide the perfect skills to help her clients find their dream home or successfully sell it. Her past experience as a director at KPMG—and a financial journalist who covered financial markets as well as the White House and Treasury—makes Barbara someone who understands the big picture yet can focus on the details.

Barbara is passionate about creating community and serves on the board of the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, which ensures that the Long Island City waterfront parks are healthy and vibrant places for all to enjoy. She also has served two stints as treasurer and director-at-large of the New York Junior League, where she has been a member since 1996.

She has published two books: Webster’s New World Finance and Investment Dictionary and Personal Information Management. Barbara enjoys biking, hiking, golf, skiing, and traveling. She is a music fan and enjoys seeing local live music and relaxing with her husband and two cats.
