Valentine’s Day is not just for lovers, it’s the perfect opportunity to shower those you love with small (or large) tokens of affection and appreciation, and even treating them to a delicious treat. I, personally, love to put a little something together with treats and trinkets for my friends and family, while suggesting cozy romantic spots for those celebrating more intimately. If you’re still scrambling for some last-minute ideas in Brooklyn for this V-Day weekend, I have the perfect list for you below.
Yours Truly, Brooklyn – The cutest stationery store with journals, creative greeting cards, knickknacks, small gifts, and cute wrapping paper or gift bags as well. Bonus: there’s a bookstore next door!
Su’juk Vintage Fort Greene – If your person(s) loves vintage or original home finds, you have to hit up Su’juk. It’s an eclectic mix of funky, rare finds to scatter around your home to add more depth and character without having to bring out the paint brushes.
SUKH – An intimate Thai experience. Creative signature drinks like the “Lost in Bangkok” and “Ticket to Sukh” or V-Day special like “Rose’s Kiss”, with smooth tropical flavors paired with some starters like chicken wings or curry samosas. For the main course try a classic like the Sukh PadThai or another V-Day special, Nuer Yang (tender short rib) along with the Pla Tod Samun Prai (fried filet Branzino) if you’re feeling adventurous…ending with the dessert of the night of course!
LaRina Pastificio & Vino – A modern Italian restaurant with a tavern/cafe feel, keeping traditional dishes alive and providing an excellent rotation of small production natural wines from all over. Start with the V-Day special Ostriche (oysters) along with marinated olives or the Polpo (charred octopus) with a Radicchio salad and move onto the Squid Ink Tagliolini or some more V-Day specials like Risotto and Rossini (ribeye). I love ending with their classic Tiramisu but not sure I could pass up the Dolce al Cioccolato (Dubai chocolate dessert), because why not both?
