Check Out These Autumn Farm Stands Across Long Island and the Hampton Hamlets

By Liat Salama

Fall is in full swing on the East End of Long Island and Hampton hamlets and the North Fork farm stands are busier than ever!

East Hampton Agent, Shannan North, a savant in all things Halloween, enjoys visiting Hanks’s Pumpkin Town and picks prime pumpkins to light the path for trick-or-treaters. “Cooper Lane in East Hampton is shut down to allow for hundreds of trick-or-treaters to come through, I purchase SO MUCH candy and there’s rarely ever any leftover.” She states.

“To really get into the spirit, we also love to take a trip to the Spooky Walk at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Center Moriches.” She continues, “I’ve seen people of all ages there. At the end of the spooky walk, they have a fun area with local vendors.  You can just tell that everyone involved is having a great time, plus the proceeds go towards their program for children with disabilities.”

Krupski’s Farm on the North Fork holds a special place in North Fork agent, Rachel Louise Rushforth-Worrell’s heart. “Not only are the pumpkins just perfect (we always buy about 6 of them), but they have this giant Jack-O-Lantern on the side of the building. Pictures really don’t do it justice. During long drives back from the city, I always associated it with “home” because that pumpkin would act as a bit of a landmark for us.” She states.

Southampton Agent, Hailey McGowin has a couple of go-to's for perfect pumpkins. “I’ll avoid the crush of cars and kiddos scrambling for their apples and pumpkins by visiting Hank’s Pumpkin Town mid-week. The earlier in the day the better. Corwith's Farm also has baby goats and all the fall favorites. If your stoop isn’t full of oversized multicolored pumpkins, are you even really trying?"
