An aerospace engineer, designed this mid-century modern house for himself and his family. He was influenced by the architectural movement of the time - using new and innovative materials and technologies to illustrate the idea that form should follow function and an embrace of minimalism. The design of the house, with the angled garage, and a sweeping overhang in front, is reminiscent of an airplane wing. The house is perfectly sited on 1.6 private beautifully wooded acres with an in-ground pool. The back of the house offers southern exposure with an overhang designed to provide passive solar heating in the winter months when the low sun reaches almost across the living space. During the summer months, the sun does not reach into the living space minimizing the cooling effort. A unique window wall made up of five 8' by 8" thermopane windows are canted out at a 7 degree angle so when sitting or standing, you do not see a reflection of yourself. A true testament to the consideration of detail. To further enhance the "indoor/outdoor" feeling, the interior room dividers appear to be "floating," topped with glass above 8 feet.
