31 Madison Street

Formally the manse of the Presbyterian church, 31 Prime House is a Sag Harbor landmark. Originally built in 1797, the house is named for Nathaniel Prime who was Pastor beginning in 1806. A Federal two and one-half story structure which was once owned by celebrated Jazz musician Hal McKusick (1972-2017) and stage and screen actor Hurd Hatfield (1951-1972). In 2017 the house was extensively renovated by local artists and residents, Eric Fischl and April Gornik. Each room displays the early American character and definition which once dominated Sag Harbor architecture. Living room, dining room and two first floor guest suites. A total of five bedrooms and four baths including second floor writer's loft and a finished third level. Beautifully restored with all amenities, period moldings, 200-year-old floors, four fireplaces, and an antique kitchen with wood beamed ceiling. Separate commercial barn could be used as an artist's studio, workshop, or furniture retail space. Conveniently located in the heart of Sag Harbor near Village shops and restaurants.
