This lovely garden apartment was originally four staff rooms and a corridor. After World War II, Johnny Mercer, the legendary lyricist, songwriter and singer, who won four Best Original Song Oscars, and 19 Academy Award nominations, stayed in this garden apartment on trips to New York. Designed by architect Andrew J. Thomas with 57 apartments, the buildings are of general Romanesque character and covered with unique carved animal ornamentation. Pied-a-terre purchasers are welcome.
