With a wide and unique breadth of experience and knowledge in real estate development, marketing, design and preservation, Jeanne Lutfy brings to Brown Harris Stevens a very special blend of expertise that makes her uniquely suited to helping her clients achieve their goals. A consummate real estate professional and “people person,” Jeanne successfully guides her clients through today’s fast-paced and challenging real estate market, whether they are searching for a new home or selling one.

Jeanne totally engages with her clients and enjoys partnering with them to find the best possible match for their real estate needs. She immerses herself, studying each client’s requirements and desires, and assists them throughout their journey in the world she knows so well. Her marketing and branding expertise enables her to see the world through a consumer’s lens and then add value on both the buying and selling sides. Perhaps most importantly, Jeanne infuses her collaborations with warmth and laughter through what are often intense financial and emotional decisions.

Jeanne’s approach is both entrepreneurial and resourceful. Her current position as a New York City Landmarks Commissioner, combined with her experience in public and private real estate development, has given Jeanne keen insight into this city’s ever-changing landscape and diverse neighborhoods. She is an experienced negotiator, with a quick understanding of how to maximize a property’s potential, which makes her uniquely suited to helping clients find that “diamond in the rough,” or for sellers, taking something rough and marketing it as a diamond. She is also an innate problem-solver, a skill she honed as President of the BAM Local Development Corporation, where she spearheaded the planning and development of the now burgeoning BAM Cultural District, as well as at Forest City Ratner Companies and the NYC Economic Development Corp. Moreover, Jeanne’s love of, and keen eye for, architecture and design, her extensive contacts in those fields, and her experience in renovation are an asset for buyers looking to realize their vision.

For her clients purchasing an apartment in a new development, Jeanne knows many of the city’s major developers personally, as well as the heads and senior executives of companies marketing their buildings, so she can often provide her clients with a unique perspective on their dealings with them.

A native New Yorker, Jeanne knows (and loves!) the city like the back of her hand. She has an intimate knowledge of both Manhattan and Brooklyn, having lived and worked in both boroughs. She currently lives in Park Slope.

In her spare time, Jeanne is always looking to give back. She has been involved with a variety of arts and nonprofit organizations, most recently serving as Chair of Issue Project Room. She also serves on her co-op board, where she oversees the building’s major capital projects. Jeanne has a BA from Drew University, where she studied Economics and Art History.
