Mr. Burger has consistently been the #1 Top-Producing Broker at Brown Harris Stevens Flagship Office, New York’s oldest and most prestigious real estate firm, established in 1873. For the past 15 years, he has also been the firm’s #1 Listing Broker. In each calendar year, he has surpassed his own sales records. In 2005, he set a new record in New York City representing the purchaser for the highest price ever paid for a cooperative apartment, the sale of a magnificent 20 room penthouse triplex on Fifth Avenue for $44 million. In 2008 and 2012, he once again broke his own record, representing the seller, by achieving the two highest prices ever paid for a prewar cooperative, $46 million for 1060 Fifth Avenue and $50 million for 944 Fifth Avenue. In 2014 he achieved the highest price ever paid for a cooperative apartment in Manhattan history at over $71,000,000 for the sale of a magnificent 18-room duplex at 740 Park Avenue and then shattered this record with the $77,500,000 sale at 834 Fifth Avenue in the first quarter of 2015. He has also achieved the five highest sales prices paid for a cooperative apartment on Central Park West. In 2019, he achieved the highest price ever paid for a condominium on Fifth Avenue.
Over the past 15 years, The Wall Street Journal has repeatedly recognized Mr. Burger as one of the highest producing brokers in New York City and placed him “in the top one percent of the top one percent of real estate professionals in America.”
His outstanding professionalism, and encyclopedic knowledge of Manhattan’s finest apartments and townhouses, have proven to be tremendous assets in brokering over 10 billion dollars of Manhattan real estate sales.

John Burger was born in Manhattan and resides on the Upper East Side, as well as in Water Mill, New York. He is fluent in English, Spanish and German. He deals extensively with international clients through the firm’s worldwide marketing relationship with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World – a network of 565 firms in 70 countries with an annual sales volume exceeding $370 Billion.
