Kenneth G. Mandelbaum

I bought my first house in 1974, and since then real estate has been part of my DNA. I have owned homes in Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Dumbo and Bridgehampton. My background is finance and I have a BA in Economics(Wesleyan 66) and an MBA in Investments(NYU Stern 68). I’ve worked on Wall Street managing people and money and have had a very successful career as an independent pension consultant and financial planner. I understand personal finance and taxes, and know how to make money work for you, rather than you for it. I’ve lived in Brooklyn for almost 50 years, and during that time have been involved in various aspects of real estate investment and management for myself - and many others. Every deal I’ve done has involved leverage and tax strategies, including 1031 "like kind exchanges.” I can bring this broad range of knowledge and experience to serve the varied needs of residential buyers and sellers, as well as real estate investors. I consider myself a facilitator. I know how to make a deal happen. I believe in honesty, trust and integrity and enjoy the challenge of negotiation and completion of the deal.

My wife and I currently own a condominium in DUMBO and a house in Bridgehampton—both exciting markets that have seen incredible growth in the past 10 years. I will continue to be active in these markets as both an owner and broker.

I have been responsible for some of the marquee luxury transactions over the past several years, and was honored for the highest condo resale in 2015. My son Jeff has joined in partnership with me and we are excited about our extended reach. Our network of high-net worth clients is drawn from our diverse backgrounds in financial planning and the world of professional music. We have sold former consular residences, prewar co-ops and prime landmark brownstones to clients who value us for our insight, in-depth market advice and discretion.
