With more than a decade of experience in New York City real estate and over $100 million in closed sales transactions, Teresa Alessandro brings a deeply local perspective, a consultative approach, and a passion for helping clients build long-term value in one of the world’s most dynamic markets. A lifelong New Yorker and graduate of Iona University, Teresa serves buyers and sellers across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and parts of Long Island City and Astoria, offering honest guidance, detailed market insight, and a nuanced understanding of neighborhood character. Fluent in both English and Italian, she is especially attuned to the cultural fabric and small businesses that form the backbone of New York’s communities.

Before entering real estate, Teresa built a successful career selling advertising space at WNBC, working across commercial spots, digital campaigns, and branded features. While that role sharpened her skills in communication, listening, and storytelling, it also revealed a desire to create a more tangible, lasting impact. Real estate offered exactly that: the opportunity to help clients grow generational wealth through thoughtful investments in apartments and townhouses, while engaging directly with the neighborhoods that define the city. Having personally navigated investment ownership, Teresa brings firsthand experience to every transaction, guiding clients with clarity, transparency, and strategic care.

In 2025, Teresa founded the Making NYC Home Collective, expanding her client services while continuing to grow the Making NYC Home brand and blog, launched in 2026, across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Drawn to Brown Harris Stevens for its legacy as the city’s oldest brokerage, its private ownership, and its deeply personalized client service, Teresa is committed to delivering trusted, relationship-driven representation. She also runs the City to Suburbs Team through Making Westchester Home and can assist clients who are exploring relocation, country homes, or weekend homes in southern Westchester. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, watercolor painting, and long walks with her dog, Millie.
