Carolyn Joy began her professional real estate career in 1982 as property manager for the Brazilian firm of Julio Bogoricin Imoveis. Just three years later, she launched her independent brokerage business, specializing in Lincoln Center Condominiums, working primarily with foreign investors and then growing her reputation and her reach with resident New Yorkers. In 2006, with 23 years of experience in sales, rentals, and property management, Carolyn joined Brown Harris Stevens; the union was a perfect match, combining her history of maintaining loyal clientele and constant referrals with Brown Harris Stevens’ immense presence and exclusivity.
Raised in the suburbs of the City, Carolyn is a native New Yorker. She spent four years in college at The University of Michigan, where she earned her B.A. in foreign languages and literature. She has lived in Brazil and Spain, and has had extended stays in Italy and France. An avid traveler and a lover of languages, she is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and conversant in Italian and French. Carolyn is exceptionally proud of her children Julien and Genevieve, both college graduates, and her 16 year old Philip, who is currently a junior in high school. They follow her lead with their love of languages, music and film.
