About Rachel Carmean
Through searching for her own family’s Sunset Park townhouse, Rachel realized her true calling in helping others find their dream homes. Prior to becoming a licensed real estate agent, Rachel Carmean enjoyed a 15-year career in the market research industry. As a salesperson with the venerable firm of Brown Harris Stevens in the Park Slope office, Rachel has cultivated a loyal client base that relies on her ability to listen, her diligence and attention to detail, and her professional standards.
Originally from California, Rachel first moved to Brooklyn Heights in the early 90s. She and her husband returned to Brooklyn in 2004, purchasing and fully renovating an 1896 two-family brownstone in beautiful Sunset Park. An active member of the Sunset Park Landmarks Committee, which is tasked with establishing an historic district in the neighborhood, Rachel also revived and leads her block association. She also volunteers for the OLPH Soccer League, Holy Angels Catholic Academy, and is a member of the Sunset Park CSA. She is active in Community Board 7, Council District 38 and volunteers for the District’s Participatory Budgeting process.
Rachel holds Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from the University of California and a Master of Arts in Sociology from SUNY Stony Brook. Rachel is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, is an avid yoga practitioner and enjoys spending time with her seven-year-old son and husband, who works in commercial real estate in Manhattan.
