Prior to joining Brown Harris Stevens, Wendy Cortese worked with a top performing broker at a luxury real estate firm on the Upper East Side. For several years there she specialized in marketing high end townhouses, co-ops and condos, and now brings that sensibility and expertise with her to the Brooklyn market. Wendy has lived in Park Slope, Brooklyn since 2005 and was drawn to the neighborhood by its tree-lined streets, classic architecture, and unmatched quality of life.

Wendy graduated from George Mason University with a degree in English and a concentration in fiction writing. Her background in the arts and humanities fuels her compulsion to spend free time studying the history of Brooklyn’s neighborhoods, buildings and architects, as well as researching the development and conversion potential of properties. When she allows herself to come up for air, she loves visiting art and design museums, taking in films at BAM Cinemas, cooking, classic rock, and bicycling in Prospect Park.

As a third generation real estate broker, beginning with her grandmother who owned a boutique firm in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Wendy feels that real estate is in her blood and has a deep appreciation for the aesthetics of properties. She thrives on the satisfaction that comes from employing integrity, discretion, and meticulous care to help a customer buy or sell a home.
