She was elected and served as World President 2022-2023 of FIABCI, The International Real Estate Federation. Susan continues to be a Delegate to the United Nations Social and Economic Council as a member of FIABCI leadership.

Early in her career, Susan established herself first as a successful real estate broker before joining Merrill Lynch Realty at the beginning of their establishment of the nationwide network of 480 offices. Over the 10 years at Merrill, she accomplished many initiatives that enhanced and improved the 480 offices production nationwide. When Merrill Lynch sold the real estate company, Susan formed her own company in Manhattan with a French partner in Paris with 40 agents specializing in both commercial and residential real estate. In 1996 She merged the company with Brown Harris Stevens and has been with Brown Harris ever since.

After Merrill Lynch exited the real estate business, Susan founded Jean-Marc Levet & Partners, a New York– and Paris-based firm serving high-net-worth individuals and international investors. She later merged the company into Brown Harris Stevens in 1996. In addition to brokerage, Susan has served as a consultant to corporations and global developers on luxury residential and resort projects including Kensington Green (London), Sandy Port (Bahamas), Virgin Grand (U.S. Virgin Islands), and the Four Seasons Resort and Hotel in Nevis. Today, she partners closely with her son, Matthew Merdinger, blending institutional knowledge with a flexible, forward-looking approach that embraces change and evolving market dynamics.
She was a member of the faculty for NAR’s Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation and has taught across the U.S. and Europe for more than 20 years.
