BHS Earns Three Awards at REBNY’s 37th Annual Deal of the Year Awards

By Sarah Burris

The Real Estate Board of New York’s 37th Annual Residential Deal of the Year Benefit & Awards brought together the city’s brokerage community at Guastavino’s to recognize standout deals and industry leadership.

For Brown Harris Stevens, the evening resulted in three awards across leadership and sales.

CEO Bess Freedman received the Henry Forster Memorial Award for her impact on both the industry and the broader community. Since becoming CEO in 2018, she has led the firm with a focus on professionalism, strong ethical standards, and client-first service, while also championing thoughtful workplace policies and meaningful social impact initiatives. A member of REBNY’s Board of Governors and Executive Committee, her influence across both business and community speaks to what this honor represents.

Barbara Fox was honored with the Industry Champion Award, recognizing her extraordinary leadership and longstanding commitment to REBNY and the Residential Member in Need Fund. She has played a key role in building the fund into a cornerstone of the residential brokerage community, fostering a culture of generosity and support across the industry.

Amelia Gewirtz and Andrew Phillips, alongside Zak Resnick, earned Third Place for Residential Sales Deal of the Year for a co-op transaction that required a creative approach to move negotiations forward and ultimately close.

Congratulations to Bess Freedman, Barbara Fox, Amelia Gewirtz, and Andrew Phillips on these well-deserved recognitions!
