Renowned Japanese fashion designer Hiroki Nakamura, founder of the luxury menswear brand Visvim, has listed his SoHo loft for $2.7 million.

The loft at 16 Greene Street is tucked inside one of the original Fluxhouse buildings, a series of live-work spaces for artists developed by George Maciunas in the 1960s. Nakamura and his wife, Kelsi, who designs Visvim’s women’s line, WMV, undertook a comprehensive renovation of the space. They preserved its original features while integrating Japanese design elements, resulting in a harmonious blend of vintage and modern aesthetics.

As listing agent Chris Pomeroy tells Mansion Global, the home is “a beautiful combination of new mechanicals with vintage materials, like the bathhouse, which was created using reclaimed wood and stained-glass panels.”

Other notable design aspects include four large Chochin globe lights and an upper mezzanine with parquet flooring crafted from reclaimed pine, processed in Japan. The loft also features exposed brick walls, industrial windows, a kitchen outfitted with vintage fixtures and appliances, a cast-iron spiral staircase leading to the mezzanine, and a restored, soundproofed tin ceiling.
