Brown Harris Stevens remembers John Barman, a renowned interior designer in New York City known for his sophisticated contemporary style, innovative ideas, bold sense of design, and ability to infuse color into a space.

John’s light shined bright in the industry, and his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched both personally and professionally, as well as the tens of thousands of beautiful spaces he designed.

We met John Barman through our friend and partner, Lisa Ben-Isvy, who was the former publisher of New York Spaces and also contributed to many of our editorial publications.

John Barman was one of the first selected Top Designers that contributed to our company magazine, featuring the most exceptional properties at Brown Harris Stevens.

John Barman was also working with our new development division and did a video with two of our top brokers right before COVID-19. Barman was not only extremely talented but also an absolute pleasure to work with.
