By Cristyn Ong

As we all anxiously await season 4 of the award-winning show The Bear on FX, we thought it was the perfect time to revisit a conversation between our CEO Bess Freedman and the show’s co-producer and restaurateur Will Guidara.

He’s the man behind some of country’s most incredible eateries, including Eleven Madison Park, which he co-owned with chef Daniel Humm.

Guidara, who also authored the hit book Unreasonable Hospitality, emphasizes that genuine hospitality transcends industries. In his conversation with Freedman, he shared how principles from the hospitality sector can enhance experiences in fields like real estate.? He further notes that if you can add value by helping someone genuinely understand that they are valued, you’ve likely earned a customer for life—and the impact you have on others isn’t just a formality, but a vital component of emotional connection.

Many of Guidara’s experiences outlined in his book became inspirations for storylines in The Bear , where he also has a cameo at the end of Season 3.
