As the nephew of Clark Halstead who founded the Halstead brand, which became part of Brown Harris Stevens, possessing knowledge of and passion for real estate came naturally to Christopher.
Following an initial career track on the account management side for a leading global advertising agency, Chris transitioned to real estate in 2009, opting to carry the torch as a top agent and continue to build upon the family legacy. His star rose quickly and his professional acumen garnered him a seat at the table reserved for NYC’s “Top 5% Real Estate Producers.”
Chris advocates a thoughtful approach to assuring that agents meet clients’ needs at every turn, and commit fully to delivering honest and attentive guidance while maintaining a constant focus on the entire transaction process, from the initial consult with the customer through to closing.
Chris has served as Executive Sales Director of Connecticut since 2021, and was appointed to serve companywide as Chief Strategy Officer, Managing Director of Sales in 2025.
In this new role, Chris plays a vital part in shaping the future of the firm. He is responsible for implementing new initiatives across the company, for streamlining operations and efficiencies within and between regions, and for strategic projects.
Chris has a deep understanding of most Manhattan neighborhoods. His knowledge of townhouses, condos, and co-ops is extensive, as is his understanding and experience through the board process. On a regular basis, Chris makes it his priority to personally view as many on-market properties as possible, including speaking with sponsors, developers, and sales offices for the many “new development” properties springing up everywhere.
At the foundation of his success is his collaborative and congenial approach with agents, customers and colleagues alike, working in both the residential and commercial arenas. He prides himself on a reputation that places customer service above all else. His personal approach is to listen intently, offer straightforward guidance, and respond accordingly in a timely and efficient manner.
Additionally, Chris believes educating buyers and sellers on market fluctuations and trends is paramount to helping them make intelligent and informed decisions. His vast network of relationships and expert negotiation skills enable Chris to be a true partner in the process.
Chris maintains a dedicated office at 445 Park Avenue, while maintaining a primary focus on Connecticut where he is also fully engaged and accessible to our teams and agents throughout the region.
Chris is an alumnus of Emory University in Atlanta. Chris resides in Connecticut with his wife and two children.
