Fifth Madison Group was founded by Justin Duffy with a clear purpose: to raise the standard of residential real estate marketing and brokerage on the Upper East Side. In doing so, we aim to increase property values for sellers and developers in a measurable way in the near and long term.
The brokerage industry and consumers’ perceptions and ways of interacting with their real estate have changed significantly over the past decade. Our mission is to respond to these changes through innovation, thoughtful marketing initiatives and the high-touch client care that Brown Harris Stevens is known for.
Our broad strategy is threefold:
- Education – We help current residents, potential residents and co-op Boards understand how thoughtful preparation, marketing and pricing when selling can benefit themselves and their neighbors long-term. This is done through direct outreach, educational content and seminars for sellers, buyers and co-ops.
- Advisory – We provide serious, data-driven, hands-on and highly personalized brokerage to every seller and developer with whom we work. With the proliferation of publicly available real estate information, we believe discernment and translation of data into action by an experienced professional is more important than ever to achieve strong results.
- Narrative – Through thoughtful marketing, storytelling, visuals and smart PR, we aim to reintroduce the Upper East Side to a new generation of buyers and in doing so, increase property values for this generation of sellers and developers.
We keep our client list small by design, so that we can be hands-on with every detail of every transaction from start to finish. We treat each listing like a Private Client project, not a transaction, and our Clients are always #1. While marketing is partly a creative endeavor, we believe that being methodical and strategic with both pricing and negotiation are critically important. We bring rigor and proven systems to every transaction, and we are directly involved in every step of the process with each of our Clients.
JUSTIN DUFFY is a meticulous modern real estate professional with traditional business values. Over the past decade as a broker, Justin has become known for his honesty and candor, his ability to translate customers' goals into strategy, to usher the transaction forward, and a genuine care for his clients' wellbeing. His clients often commend his professionalism, his ability to remain calm in difficult negotiations, and for his sense of humor. Prior to founding Fifth Madison Group at Brown Harris Stevens, Justin spent several years at Sotheby's International Realty after leading a large, top-producing team at a smaller boutique real estate firm.
Previous to real estate, Justin worked in the fashion industry as a regional manager, merchandiser, store designer, and window dresser. He was born and raised in Brick, NJ along the Jersey Shore and currently resides on 62nd and Park Avenue with his five-year-old rescue dog, Terra. You can often find him at East 60’s neighborhood staples such as Bel Ami, David Burke Tavern and Equinox, or volunteering at New York Common Pantry.
Justin is an active member of the Real Estate Board of New York, New York Residential Agent Continuum, and the American Real Estate Association. Justin holds a Master Certified Negotiation Expert® designation from RENI and is a licensed Notary Public. He is both deeply involved in the brokerage community and in the Upper East Side neighborhood he calls home.
