With a diverse career and educational background spanning real estate, law, and architecture, Phyllis R. Gottesman provides a wealth of valuable expertise to her real estate clients.
After completing her studies at Skidmore (French), Yale (Medieval Studies), the Sorbonne, NYU (art and architecture), and New York Law, Phyllis pursued a career in law, where she honed her listening and negotiation skills. She now employs those skills, as well as her architectural knowledge, daily as a real estate salesperson.
Phyllis’ love of real estate dates back to her childhood, which she spent living in an historic Hudson River home surrounded by late 19th Century mansions.
Having spent most of her life on the Upper West Side, both as a student in a studio and a mother of two in a three bedroom co-op, Phyllis knows and loves the neighborhood in all of its different permutations, from townhouses to pre-war renovations and new construction.
Phyllis’ understanding of architecture has endowed her with a unique sense of space and how it can best be used to accommodate the needs of her clients. Her extensive travels throughout Europe have broadened her awareness of different cultures, styles, and emerging design trends.
Phyllis is thrilled to be a member of the Anna Kahn Team at Brown Harris Stevens, which has consistently ranked in the top one percent of broker teams in New York City and Nationwide.
As the mother of a devoted equestrian, Phyllis spends plenty of time at equestrian competitions and related events on Long Island. She also frequents the opera and various museums (where she willingly gives private tours), and can often be found enjoying a walk with her goldendoodle through Central Park or Riverside Park.
