Give Back: Thanksgiving Food Drives Accepting Donations this Year

By Hannah Minnick

As the season of gratitude arrives, communities across NYC, the Hamptons, New Jersey, and Florida are rallying together to support neighbors in need. Thanksgiving is not only a time to gather with loved ones, but also an opportunity to reflect on the importance of generosity. This year, numerous organizations are hosting food drives and donation initiatives to help ensure that every family can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. With the help of Brown Harris Stevens Agents, we’ve compiled a list of trusted charities accepting donations across these regions. Your contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in strengthening our communities and sharing the spirit of the season.

City Harvest

As New York City’s first and largest food-rescue organization, City Harvest runs major seasonal food drives, including the “Daily News Food Drive” from Tuesday, October 21, 2025 to Friday, January 16, 2026, providing an extended window around Thanksgiving. They ask for non-perishable food donations that can be dropped off at designated public drop-off locations (e.g., FDNY or NYPD stations, Apple Bank branches) during the drive period.
