A music aficionado, James formed CBGB Holdings in 2007, buying the IP and trademarks to the iconic NYC nightclub famous for launching the careers of Patti Smith, The Ramones, Blondie, and countless others. As President and founder, he reinvigorated the brand by partnering with numerous platforms and outlets, including iHeart Radio, Activision, and the Vans Warped Tour. He also donated a permanent CBGB exhibition to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland.
Today, James brings the same infectious enthusiasm, creativity, and attention to detail to Real Estate that made him a successful media executive. Having bought and sold numerous properties of his own over the years in NYC and East Hampton, joining Brown Harris Stevens was an easy and most welcome transition. His clients appreciate his sharp negotiation and analytical skills, and he always maintains a pulse on the current market and trends. Likewise, his keen eye for marketing and design allows him to expertly showcase homes for maximum appeal.
A Long Island native, James grew up in South Bellmore Harbor Estates. After attending the University of Wisconsin, Madison, he relocated to New York City and began spending summers in the Hamptons. In 1999 James bought his first home in East Hampton and in 2005 he moved into the beautifully appointed 2-acre property he enjoys now. When he isn’t living and breathing real estate, James loves to cook and entertain his large family and circle of friends. Other hobbies include collecting art, designing & decorating, gardening, biking, pickleball, and tennis.
