On a more personal note, Shelle was an active volunteer at the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center (formerly known as the New York Foundling Hospital) for more than 20 years. She is now doing similar volunteer work at Archare, a continuing care organization overseen by the Archdiocese of New York.
