Doug, a lifelong Brooklynite and resident of Bed-Stuy, has over 20 years of experience in economic development and real estate. Through working in senior-level positions at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, the NYC Economic Development Corporation, and the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, Doug developed a deep appreciation for New York’s neighborhoods and the stories each hold. It is the depth of that appreciation that helps make Doug an advocate for the sellers, buyers and investors with whom he works. He is an alumnus of Morehouse College and holds a graduate degree from Columbia University.
A skilled communicator and former U.S. army member, Darnell Thornton’s background includes five years working at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital. He also worked as a brand manager for a major beverage company. Darnell has an uncanny ability to pinpoint his clients’ specific desires and deliver on those expectations. He attributes much of this to his education at Hunter College, where he majored in communications and sociology. Darnell’s commitment to loyalty, determination, and hard work are second to none.
Isaiah Ajala brings a dynamic, international perspective to the Doug Jones Team. He hails from London, England, where he earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in marketing from Hertfordshire University. He then obtained a second degree in quantity surveying (similar to cost management in the U.S.) at Anglia Ruskin University. Isaiah went on to spend five years in the construction business honing his project management and finance skills. He now uses this wisdom to advise clients on navigating acquisitions and renovations while maximizing ROI.
Doug, Darnell and Isaiah are all proud residents of Brooklyn. In addition to their family homes, they each own multi-family properties in Bed-Stuy, Bushwick, and Flatbush. Their diverse interests include art collecting, swimming, traveling, reading and writing. Frequently, they can be spotted around their neighborhoods exploring parks and restaurants with loved ones.
